It’s crazy to have never met someone, and when they die, you know where they are going. Beyond a shadow of doubt, Charlie Kirk is in Heaven with his Creator. Charlie wasn’t perfect, but he was public about his complete faith in Jesus’ sacrifice that saved him.
Thank God for that.
Charlie, I’m sorry. You deserved better. You were a light in a lot of people’s lives. People you didn’t even know. I wish we could have protected you. I look up to you in a lot of ways, even though I’m your elder. Your courage was unrivaled. You walked into the lion’s den over and over and masterfully dismantled propoganda, lies and partial truths.
To some, you were an evil cloud over them – but you always let those people speak, and it was easy for anyone that can critically think to realize that they just hated you, and the evil they saw was a reflection of the emotional enviroment (usually completely devoid of logic) they created for themselves.
I remember when you were on Bill Maher’s show and you called out wasteful spending by naming what you thought was an egregious amount of money going to study ‘transgender mice’ but it was actually ‘transgenic mice’. You immediately, gracefully admitted you were wrong – “I stand corrected on that.” What would have been an embarrasing moment turned into a masterclass of how to admit when you’re wrong. Thank you for that.
Thank you for loving our country. So much of it loved you back. Thank you for being articulate, graceful and stern when necessary. Thank you for all the content that has given so many of us who are unable to organize our thoughts as well as you the confidence to speak about what we believe. So much has been said about how you inspired the youth in our nation to get out and speak, learn and vote. But it wasn’t just the youth, it was everyone that loves our country that was inspired by you.
You weren’t the names they called you. You were a man that saw millions and millions of dependent people flooding into our country with complete disregard for the law and knew we could not sustain it.
Thank you for being a voice for civil discourse. Thank you for pushing conversation over snarky social media comments or shouting matches. Thank you for being proud of our country. Thank you for praying for our nation, and in turn, me and those I love.
A cowardly little rat and his bullet took your life yesterday. Kill someone you disagree with and scurry off and hide. Romans 12:19 says “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord”.
The sinner in me just hopes someone arranges that meeting with haste.
But when I calm down and attempt to organize my thoughts, I set emotion aside and I want you to know this:
My prayer is that this tragedy emboldens patriots to stand up for what they believe in.
My prayer is that we are strengthened in our resolve to rise above hate. I would feel really gross if I behaved like the lunatics celebrating the death of someone they disagree with.
My prayer is that we are bold and do not fear. Evil will not stop, neither should we.
My prayer is that God gives me a chance to return fire when evil comes for me.
Thank you, Charlie. You will continue to inspire us even though you are no longer here.
See you soon.
