The Builder

The homes he built still stand today

Through the recession, he found a way

The families he built have united in love

Our gift to him as he arrived above

He had a sudden interest in a particular bean

He was an advocate for truth, but never mean

He was funny and made laughter fill the air

“It’s not fur, it’s definitely camel hair”

He drove like he street raced his Chevy

He’s gone, but my heart is not heavy

Because he raised his children to love the Lord

He taught me so much in the seat of his Ford

His visits were many and his intent was true

He made it obvious how much he loved you

I love you Grandpa! I’ll see you soon.
