Headstone

Days will pass
And a time will come

When life’s been lived
And the race has been run

I’ll have given my all
To do what was good

I’ll find peace in the fact
You knew where I stood

Whether linens or brass
I will lay to rest

You’ll know for sure
I gave my best

So find some cedar
And dig a hole

Because where I’m going
All I need’s my soul

Don’t need a headstone
You’ll remember me

Just say a few words
And save your money

No granite to visit
To pretend I’m there

When you already know
I met Jesus in the air
